Preparing for Launch
To ensure you are prepared for this launch CSC will work with you to help you understand what names you should consider securing in each launch phase. We will issue a launch guide and provide assistance on all trademark requirements for the Sunrise period, including a list of countries where documentary evidence will not be required.
Recommendations
As with any unrestricted domain name launch there will be a risk that third parties will try and register your valuable brand names. There is also a risk that third parties may use this easy web interface to fool your customers into contacting them, so thorough consideration on the names you want to apply for should be taken. Steps that can be taken are:
- Identify your key brands, trade names, slogans, misspellings and generics
- Classify these names into three categories:
- Names that qualify for registration in the sunrise period
- Names that do not qualify for Sunrise but you wish to secure in Landrush
- Names that qualify in for General Launch
- Use CSC’s launch phase guide to help categorize the name
